London is in the south of england. It is the capital and most populous city in England. One of the world’s most visited cities, England’s buzzing capital is well worth the visit and has so much to offer, from magnificent history and culture to cutting-edge fashion and food. Located in England, London is home to many famous landmarks. London was founded by Romans, in around the 19th century. London to this day remains a city leading in the arts, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, media, healthcare, transportation, tourism, reasearch and development. London is often regared as a world cultural capital.
ROYALTY
The British royal family comprises the monarch of the United Kingdom and her close relations. There is no strict legal or formal definition of who is or is not a member of the British royal family and, apart from Queen Elizabeth II herself, different lists include different people. Those who at the time are entitled to the style His or Her Royal Highness (HRH), and any styled His or Her Majesty (HM), are normally considered members, including those so styled before the beginning of the current monarch's reign. By this criterion, a list of the current royal family will usually include the monarch, the children and male-line grandchildren of the monarch and previous monarchs, the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales, and all their current or widowed spouses.
Some of London's most famous landmarks are Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, The Tower of London, Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret's Church. Something that London is very well known for is it's royalty. London England is home to Queen Elizabeth, her two sons and grandchildren. The queen lives in the iconic Buckingham Palace.


In 2012, London became the first city to ever been able to host the Summer Olympic Games three times. London was the world's most populous city from around 1831 to 1925.
The world's foremost fashion destination, London is a shopper’s paradise: from flea markets and vintage shops to luxury department stores like Selfridges and Harrods, the options are endless. Many famous films have used the city as a backdrop, follow in the footsteps of James Bond or Harry Potter with a guided tour.
SPORTS
Sports play an important part in the life in Britain and is a popular leisure activity. Many of the world's famous sports began in Britain, including cricket, football, lawn tennis, golf and rugby. England's national sport is cricket although to many people football (soccer) is seen as the national sport. Football is the most popular sport. Some of England's football teams are world famous, the most famous being Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Football is undoubtedly the most popular sport in England, and has been played for hundreds of years. In the English Football League there are 92 professional clubs. These are semi-professional, so most players have other full-time jobs. Hundreds of thousands of people also play football in parks and playgrounds just for fun. The highlight of the English football year is the FA (Football Association) Cup Final each May. Rugby originated from Rugby school in Warwickshire. It is similar to football, but played with an oval ball. Players can carry the ball and tackle each other. The best rugby teams compete in the Super League final each September. The world's most famous tennis tournament is Wimbledon. It started at a small club in south London in the nineteenth century. Over 3 million people participate in basketball in the UK. Darts is a very popular pub game. The game of darts, as it is today, was invented in the north of England in a town called Grimsby. However, the origins of the game date back to at least the Middle Ages.
