Giambrone was born in Michigan. He then moved to Park Ridge, Illinois and attended Lincoln Middle School, and Maine South High School. He now splits his time between Los Angeles and Park Ridge. He took up acting at the age of 9, starring in television commercials for McDonald's and Friendly's Restaurants among others. His first film role was as Afro Boy in I Heart Shakey.
In 2013, Giambrone gained the part of Adam Goldberg, the youngest child of Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jeff Garlin's characters, in the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs The show was renewed for a second season after its first had aired.
In 2014, Giambrone joined the voice cast of the animated series Clarence, which airs on Cartoon Network, providing the voice of Jeff, a friend of the title character. He also made an appearance in R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour and is due to voice the character of bull terrier Russell in the DVD film Russell Madness. His parents are named Vonda and David and he has an older brother named Luke.

Giambrone divides his time between Los Angeles and Chicago with his parents, Vonda and David, as well as older brother Luke.
