Utaite is a Japanese term for people who cover previously
released songs and post them on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube.
Therefore, utaites are different from Kashu,
which means "singer" in general.
*They are not characters, they use characters to represent themselves*
Generally, utaite do cover songs for VOCALOID
original songs, anime and game related songs, and J-Pop.
Sometimes VOCALOID producers produce original songs to
release their own music CDs.
Most utaites learn to mix their own songs, and some write their own lyrics and
records them play the instruments to produce music online.
