The Latency is a rock/pop band from Maple Ridge. The band consists of, Brandon Lehti(Lead Vocals/Guitar), Ryan Stead(Guitar/Vocals) and Mathew Gendron(Bass/Piano). The band formed in 2006 out of the three of them. In 2007 they hired Jonny Wiebe as a drummer. In 2008 they come out with their debut studio recording album, "CHOMP!!". The EP put The Latency's name on the Canadian music scene, especially the song "Tonight, I Love You". This song would become the band's first single after such a heavy demand at radio stations from fans pushing the song into heavy rotation on most major radio stations across Canada. They also released a video for the song in 2009 which would hit #1 on MuchMusic's Daily Ten various times. Even though the band could achieve so much success, in 2009 they eventually signed to Maple Music Recordings. After they signed, they re-released "CHOMP!!" and came out with another video for the song "Kids". After this video, The Latency came out with their first full-length album "The Latency". They than got their single "Kids" on the MuchMusic top 30 countdown. The Latency than came out with two new singles called "Tonight I Love You" and "Fork in the Road". Since their success they have toured with artists such as, Hedley, State of Shock, Shiloh, Faber Drive, Ten Second Epic and Marianas Trench. On September 1st, 2010 it was announced through a Ustream chat with the band that drummer Jonny Wiebe would be leaving The Latency, with no permanent replacement chosen yet.
