the armor in the monster hunter series is one of the most important things in the game. every armor set has slots where you can put gems to up your stats. they also have new power ups such as: marathon runner which slows down stamina depletion. the armor can also have armor spheres forged into them to up the defense, so you can be using the weakest armor and spam armor spheres into it to make it better, but that isnt recommended...

each peice of armor has a different number of slots. these slots can have decorations put into them to get different skills like marathon runner which makes stamina go down slower.

if there is armor for hunters, there is armor for your felyne companion, the palico. instead of getting different peices of the monster, you need scraps from special mission called: "the meownster hunter quests". these quests take place on sunsnug isle. everytime you complete a quest as the palico, you get scraps for palico weapons and armor.

DLC

each month, capcom realesed dlc for monster hunter 4 ultimate. it stopped now because of monster hunter generations coming in july. the dlc armor above was one of the most popular armor sets in the game. every dlc avaliable has a curtain quest to go along with it.

if you think the hunters are the only ones that get dlc equiptment, you would be dead wrong! the palicos also get dlc gear and weapons for battle as well! like the hunters, you have to complete a certain quest to be able to unlock the gear.
