Being able to figure out psychological a market’s behaviour can be a very effective aiding technique in the revision of current products, and the creation of new ones. Understanding market behaviour helps the producer understand what the needs and desires of customers are in a product. Knowing what the customer is looking for, and thinking psychologically help many aspects of how to distribute the product. It can be helpful in the knowing of what to put up for sale and or how much that item should be sold for to make the most sales and still keep a fair price on the product. Another necessary aspect of consumer behaviour is realizing how certain people tend to react to specific marketing strategies, to see which ones work successfully and which don't. Obviously, everyone reacts to everything differently, and this is very much the case with marketing strategies. Just because one thing works on one customer, doesn't mean it will work on every customer. Marketing strategies target customers and are aimed at changing or creating their perception on products, goods or services. There are also other things that can come into a consumers head via marketing strategies. A few of them are the following; when, where and how the consumer buys the products. Some are best sellers during certain times of the year, like Christmas time for example is one of the biggest gift buying time periods of the calendar year. Some are best placed in certain demographic areas. Nicer, higher end items are more sufficient in sales in areas of higher income. At last, one of the most necessary components to why a customer makes their decision the way they do, is the "WHY" factor. It is very necessary to know the purpose of why someone buys a product, whether it is based on the purchase for a status role or a common neccessity.
